The Community of Tregynon
The present community of Tregynon derives from the
historical parish of the same name. The community lies in the Montgomeryshire
hill country in a landscape that is defined by the upper reaches of the Bechan
brook. The largest settlement in the community is the key settlement of
Tregynon, a relatively large village with an important range of community
services and facilities including a new area school.
Ysgol Rhiw Bechan was built in 1995 to serve as the area primary school following the closure of the four small village schools in Bettws, Tregynon, Adfa and Manafon. The settlement has seen considerable development in recent years with the remainder of the population living in scattered farms and dwellings.
There are currently 9 councillors serving the people of the community. To view minutes of meetings held, please select the Council tab at the top of this page, then choose the Minutes and Agendas link.
